I would say that this is at the heart of what I do with each client I coach. I call it getting better at relaxing, no matter what. No matter what is happening in your life - experiencing the freedom, peace and energy that comes with getting better at relaxing in the midst of uncertainty or chaos.
If you want to practice a little, one simple thing you could do would be to practice relaxing your body while you brush your teeth. As you brush your teeth, notice if you have any tension in your jaw or face for example. If there is tightness or tension, consciously relax your jaw or mouth. Are your shoulders tight while you brush? Can you relax them? Are you holding your breath while you brush? Can you let go and let yourself breathe? This is one simple way to practice relaxing in the midst of whatever is happening in your world, or in your mind.
Of course, you could also simply sit with a cup of tea and breathe while you practice in the same way - noticing any tension or tightness in your body and relaxing it. It is a practice, meaning we get better at this with practice. And with getting better comes more ease, calm and peace, even when everything around us seems crazy. It really is everything.
Wishing you a blessed week ahead.

PS: Recently a new client rated her general level of stress at 10/10 on a stress scale (10 feeling most stressed). Then, after her first few sessions, I asked her to rate herself again and she said 5/10. In that moment, when she realized she felt 50% more relaxed than she had before the start of our sessions, she cried tears of relief/happiness and said "I'm getting back to being me". It was a pretty special moment (for me as well).
The truth is that having a skilled and compassionate coach can make all the difference for so many of us. Yet we often hesitate, we think "I can't afford it" or "I should be able to do this on my own", or "I'm just too busy right now". And I understand. I have been there myself. That is part of the reason I keep my fee very low, and I only ask new clients to commit to the first 4 sessions. It's been my experience that, after those first few sessions, clients feel such significant relief that they can't believe they almost missed the opportunity to say yes to this support. The bottom line is, we all do better with skilled and compassionate support. Typically, much better.
With gratitude,
Lee
